Latoya Lane
Investigators say a freshman at Fayetteville State University was drinking and doing drugs before she died.
According to a search warrant, doctors found alcohol and marijuana in Latoya Lane's system. The papers say Lane was visiting friends at University Place apartments.
When they woke up, they found Lane in front of a sofa with her face down. They took her to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she died.
Lane, 18, finished her first semester of college, but didn't live to see her grades. Lane lived in Hope Mills and went to South View High School. After high school, she commuted to college.
